Tour starts at 10:00 , After pickup, we'll depart the city.Â
Our first stop is the Jvari Monastery, perched atop a mountain. Here, you'll hear an introductory story about the area and enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Armazi Mountains, the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, and the town of Mtskheta. This 6th-century early Christian marvel beautifully demonstrates the harmony between architecture and landscape.Â
We'll then head towards Gori, a town at the heart of the Kartli region, historically significant as a military stronghold during the Middle Ages. Nestled at the base of a sandstone hill is the medieval Fortress Tskhra-kara, known as "the Nine-gated." After a brief walk around the fortress, we'll proceed to the J. Stalin Museum.Â
The museum visit, which offers insights into the Soviet era, will last around 30 minutes. The museum comprises three sites: the main building housing items related to Stalin's life, the house of his birth, and his personal railway carriage.Â
Lunch awaits at the nearby "Shin da Gori" restaurant.Â
Our next destination is the ancient cave town of Uplistsikhe, often referred to as the "Fortress of the Lord." Located 14 kilometers east of Gori, this town carved into the rock features echoing halls, winding corridor-streets, chambers for pagan worship, and even remnants of Georgia's oldest theatre—all etched into the rocky plateau, ready for exploration.Â
Once our tour of Uplistsikhe concludes, we'll head back to Tbilisi. En route, we'll pass through Mtskheta town, where you'll have a chance to take a stroll and visit its second UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Enjoy a leisurely evening, savor local sweets while browsing the souvenir shops. Â
In the evening we will drive you back to the hotel.Â
